Typically a cardboard box is made of corrugated fibreboard. These boxes are lined with two layers and are manufactured via long fibres so as to provide strength to the overall holding power of the boxes. Cardboard boxes can be used for number of things such as storing items, shipping of goods, moving of items, etc. Many times, old cardboard boxes are also used as toys for the little ones in the form of their loops, tunnel, pet house, etc. The cardboard box has a corrugated central part that is known as fluting. This part of the box is manufactured via short fibres so that they can be made resistant and stiffer pressure. These can be single walled as well as multi walled.
People are of the view that cardboard boxes are harmful to the environment. But this is not so, the cardboard boxes can be recycled and are recycled by many local authorities. These boxes are also biodegradable and hence decompose on their own. Cardboard boxes are very useful in many ways and form a useful part in the household work.
